Semiotics Poster Series

Overview: Semiotics is broken up into three categories: symbolic, iconic, and indexical. We needed to create a poster series that embodied these representations.

Problem: The challenge was to design a symbolic, iconic, and indexical poster series that demonstrates my understanding of each visual representation. The posters should feature a song lyric of no more than 15 words on all three visual representations. 

Solution: My interpretation of the lyrics tells  the story of a man who has lost the love of his life and is turning from his destructive habits to move on and “feel something again.” I created connections through imagery, type, and color and implemented visual hierarchy through the placement of visual elements.

Result: My poster series conveys a strong narrative across all three posters that encourages viewers to make connections without giving them the whole story.
